    All about the Mount Sinai and St. Catherine’s Monastery Excursion from Sharm El-Sheikh.

    Watch sunrise from one of Egypt’s highest mountains in the Sinai Peninsula, “Mount Sinai” also known as “Mount Horeb” or “Gabal Musa” where Moses received the Ten Commandments from GOD to enjoy a beautiful warm view of sunrise. Then descend back down to below the mountain to Saint Catherine City for breakfast and visit the famous 6th-century Monastery of St. Catherine.

    *NOTE* Reservations for Sundays and Fridays are NOT available.

    1. 08:00 AM Pickup Location

      You will picked up from your hotel around 09:00 PM and drive approximately three hours (220 km) to one of Egypt’s highest mountains in the Sinai Peninsula “Mount Sinai” where, according to the bible, Moses received the Ten Commandments, and a place of religious pilgrimage down the centuries.

    2. First Climbing Gabal Musa

      On arrival, you will climb the 7,497-foot (2,285 m) peak in the predawn darkness, led by your guide. If you feel you cannot climb, you can hire a camel ride that takes you to the top (additional cost), stopping off along the way at the numerous huts that sell tasty Egyptian tea, snacks and cold drinks.
      On reaching the summit, you will wait for the perfect time to witness a stunning sunrise where you can enjoy a beautiful warm view and do not forget to take some photos for memories.

    3. Second Taking a Lunch

      After this, you will descend back down to below the mountain towards a local restaurant in Saint Catherine City to take your lunch and then journey on to Saint Catherine’s Monastery.

    4. Third Saint Catherine's Monastery

      Now it is time to visit one of the most famous monuments of Sinai “Saint Catherine’s Monastery”, this monastery built in the 6th century, this walled Orthodox complex is believed to stand on the site of the Burning Bush, where Moses is traditionally held to have spoken to God.
      Head inside and tour the highlights of this venerated building. Explore the icon-coated 6th-century Basilica of the Transfiguration and view treasures such as the Mosaic of the Transfiguration as your guide explains their religious significance.

    5. 02:00 PM Drop Back Location

      About 11:00 PM, you will dropped back to your hotel at Sharm El Sheikh to arrive around 02:00 AM to take well rest.
